With the increasing demand for higher data rate for indoor and outdoor communications, the wireless local area networks have assumed more significance. IEEE 802.11 standards for the WLAN have constantly upgraded the throughput capacity over years. The recent IEEE802.11ac standard has incorporated number of new and enhanced features like MIMO, OFDM, MCS and Beamforming that have significantly enhanced the capacity to Very High Throughput (VHT) as high as 6.9 Giga bits per second. This project involves implementation of simulink model of an end-to-end wireless local area system conforming to IEEE 802.11 ac. Performance and analysis of the model is carried out for various parameters and the waterfall graph of Eb/No versus BER is obtained for comparison and assessment. The influence of various parameters on the capacity and the error rate are compared. Besides, theoretical results are compared with the simulation results to verify the integrity of the design.
