The objective of the problem is to perform a Critical Design Review of the BWG shroud assembly. It involves a Finite Element Analysis for the shroud model under gravity loads(self weight) and determining the deflection and stresses The project is completed in two stages, initially it is imported to Altair Hypermesh 7 database and meshed by shell93(predominantly) using quad elements. Required quality checks are performed.
