Summary: The project aims at designing a centralized control system for home appliances by giving instructions through mobile or the internet, implemented using simple and easily available components. Internet or GSM (global system for mobiles) network is used for sending SMS (short message service) or for message transmission. Message receiving side must consist of mobile or a pager. Message received is transferred to microcontroller using the interface circuit. Message is decoded in the microcontroller and accordingly the corresponding relays are activated. Depending on relay positions devices (home appliances such as light, TV, PC, fan etc) are controlled. Through this project we try to attain centralization of houses.
