Color Filter Array (CFA) is a mosaic of tiny color filters placed over the pixel sensors of an image sensor to capture color information. Images in most of the Consumer Digital Cameras are acquired with the help of a single image sensor that is placed over the Color Filter Array. In order to reconstruct a complete color image from the color channels that are spatially under sampled, various demosaicing algorithms have been employed. In this project, two low-complexity processors for demosaicing also known as Color Filter Array interpolation are implemented for the very-large-scale integration (VLSI) implementation in real time applications. The Adaptive edge enhanced Interpolation processor interpolates the missing pixel values based on the edge detector output.
