A familiar way of bio-energy production is through anaerobic digestion of biomass which results in generation of Methane that can be used as fuel. Considering the detrimental effects the fossil fuels have on the environment, bio-gas production offers a stable, safe alternative to their vicious cousins, the fossil fuels. Keeping the above point in mind, we now look at possible sources for production of bio-gas. The agriculture sector in India accounts for a large chunk of the Indian economy. Agricultural practices in India account for a vibrant variety of crops; thereby constituting as one of the most vital and in exhaustive source of Lignocellulosic biomass.
